What are the responsibilities and job description for the Social Media Coordinator position at Invent Inc?
Position Objective:
To create an engaging and informative social media presence that allows for open conversation and keeps the “social” in social media for 786 Cosmetics, a halal cosmetics company specializing in water permeable nail polish. The ideal candidate for this position would describe themselves as very outgoing, have a very strong tie to the Muslim community and knowledge of Muslim-related news in the United States and around the world, and be up to date on the latest beauty and social media trends.
Hours:
20 hours a week Monday-Friday between the hours of 9 AM and 5 PM. Exact hours will be discussed during the interview depending on the employee’s and employer’s schedules.
Primary Responsibilities:
Posting on all social media platforms
- Having extensive knowledge on how to operate and post to all current social media platforms including but not limited to Instagram, Instagram Reels, Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, Twitter, and Podcasts.
- Posting daily on the main social media accounts for the brand within the brand guidelines including high quality images and videos with well thought-out captions relating to American Muslim women with immaculate grammar and spelling.
- Analyzing which type of content has been successful and reporting to the manager ways to improve content and grow the accounts.
Engaging with followers
- Responding to all comments and messages promptly and respectfully.
- Commenting on and interacting with other accounts’ posts.
- Using social media as a way to interact with followers and start conversations about trending Muslim topics or news stories.
Creating images and videos
- Using a graphic design platform such as Photoshop, Illustrator, or Canva to create well-designed images and videos for social media use and potential advertisements.
- Creating unique videos to be posted on Instagram Reels and the TikTok account featuring themselves. The ideal candidate would be comfortable on camera and have an extroverted personality.
Creating and managing email newsletters and SMS
- Using an email design platform to create weekly newsletters sent to subscribers. Having the knowledge of what type of content to promote as well as knowledge of best email practices
- Sending out weekly SMS messages sent to subscribers
- Using a high attention to detail and perfect grammar and spelling to ensure no errors in text or links
- Analyzing data from each email and message sent and reporting to the manager ways to improve open rates and CTR
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in digital marketing, communications, business, public relations, or a similar field is preferred.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities Required:
Outstanding communion skills, both written and verbal
Proficiency in Google Suite (Gmail, Google Docs, Google Sheets)
Proficiency in one or more of the following: Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva
Excellent organizational skills and high attention to detail are a must
Extensive knowledge of all social media platforms
Commitment to completing all tasks to the best of your ability
Knowledge of current news and trends with women in the Muslim community
Experience with the following is preferred: Klaviyo, MailChimp, Attentive, Monday.com
