About the Role
As the Analyst, Investment Operations will be responsible for providing day-to-day transaction processing support for private equity investments. You have a strong grasp of accounting practices, investment operations practices, paired with an analytical and systems-based approach.
Location: Vancouver, BC
Responsibilities:
- Perform all required client service functions including:
- Maintenance of client records
- Compliance with all internal procedures in fund vehicles
- Respond to inquiries from clients and consultants and assist client advisors with all other inquiries and requests
- Communicate with Sales, Portfolio Management and Product Development teams on specifics surrounding client accounts Communicate significant client issues internally and document/escalate as appropriate
- Ensure client impacting regulatory change and business change is communicated to the client and internal stakeholders
- Follow up with clients regarding frequent trading issues and reconciliation breaks Educate clients on internal policies
- Disseminate appropriate disclosure documents (i.e. Conflicts Disclosure, Declarations of Trust) Actively participate in client service and regional team meetings & off-sites
- Work closely with the Account Administration Team on day-to-day issues
- Respond to auditors, consultants, and other third-party requests
- Open, update and close client accounts on systems, and maintain related records; prepare or assist in preparing any necessary documents
- Complete updates to key fields in system needed for downstream systems and teams Complete and/or distribute periodic client reports and statements
- Develop models / collect and mine large amounts of data for analysis and internal reporting
- Apply analysis and product knowledge to produce customized metrics and dashboard reporting
- Manage variety of client service projects and track progress for senior management
- Learn the office management processes and become alternate office manager responsible for vendor management
Qualifications:
- University degree in business/ finance or other relevant discipline
- 3 – 4 years of experience at financial services firm required
- SQL and Advanced Microsoft Excel a must. Power BI, MS Access will be an asset
- Excellent communication skills (both oral and written)
- Detail-oriented Strong judgment and decision-making skills
- Proactive/self-motivated Flexible/ability to adapt to change
- Ability to multitask and to pursue/meet deadlines
- Ability to develop strong internal/external relationships and an in-depth understanding of clients’ servicing needs
- Ability to thrive in a team environment
- Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Eligibility to travel between Canada and the United States
- A Criminal Record Check and Credit Check is required for this position
