About the Role

Investcloud is looking for a dynamic Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting Director accountable for overseeing the meticulous accounting of worldwide revenue, capitalized software, deferred conversion costs, goodwill, and segment reporting. Additionally, provides support in managing intricate accounting areas, including hedge instruments, equity, debt, leases, and other sophisticated financial matters. The Technical Accounting and Reporting Director oversees internal and external financial reporting and plays an integral role in systems implementations and process improvements, while partnering closely with finance, legal, sales, account management, product, and professional services. This role reports directly to the Controller and works closely with the CFO and other executive leaders.

How you will provide meaningful contributions:

  • Oversees all aspects of revenue accounting, including technical review and consultation, contract setup within the billing and revenue module, flux analysis and reconciliation review.
  • Reviews revenue disclosures for financial statement preparation and lender reporting.
  • Provides regular feedback and review of global revenue, noting irregular fluctuations on a monthly and quarterly basis.
  • Maintains all technical memos, including revenue policies, SSP allocation and one-off whitepapers for complex revenue arrangements.
  • Oversees capitalized software and deferred conversion cost accounting, while leading an effort to automate and streamline current processes.
  • Prepares goodwill and segment reporting memos, as well as the associated financial statement disclosures within Workiva.
  • Acts as subject matter expert for CRM, Billing, DealDesk and other associated systems implementations.
  • Reviews all internal and external reporting packages and actively participates in the preparation of the financial statements for annual audits and monthly lender reporting.
  • Regularly reviews internal control procedures and assesses needs for new controls related to newly implemented systems and processes.
  • Maintains regular communication with legal, sales, account management, finance, product, and professional services to ensure timely and appropriate accounting of actionable events.
  • Actively participates with external auditors and consultants, serving as an important point of contact with the Controller.
  • Serves as an integral member of the accounting team and fills in gaps on an as-needed basis.

Basic Qualifications for Consideration:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
  • A minimum of 8 years of progressive accounting experience in both public accounting and a publicly traded company.
  • Advanced understanding of ASC 606, 340, 350, 985, 280, 805, 815, 820 and a comprehensive grasp of other pertinent guidelines relevant to software companies.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting.
  • Significant experience in preparing SEC filings (10-Qs, 10-Ks, 8-Ks, etc.).
  • Strong ability to research technical areas as they arise.
  • Experience with SOX 404 compliance.
  • Advanced excel skills.

  • SaaS industry experience.
  • IPOs and business combinations.
  • NetSuite, Workiva, FloQast, PoweBI, Salesforce, JIRA, and HubSpot

The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on the applicant’s geographic location. Salary range: $150,000 - $200,000
