ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Weighs and verifies all quantities of raw materials/components for use in production batch processes, using balance, platform, or floor scales: Places loose or packaged material on scales and adds or removes portions of material to obtain specified weight
- Identify each component pre-weighed with information tag/initial
- Reads work order or formula to determine types and quantities of materials to weigh
- Records weight of materials used for production records, or maintains perpetual inventory of materials used and on hand
- May dump materials in prescribed sequence into chute or hopper, blender or onto conveyor belt
- May transfer weighed materials to production or storage areas, using hand-truck or power truck/forklift
- May sort weighed materials into designated bins or containers, according to weight or type
- May be designated according to type of components/materials used or weighed
- May weigh products as part of packing process
- Keep pre-weigh areas clean and orderly
- Follow all safety and GMP practices, as required.
- Work on special projects as required
QUALIFICATIONS:

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- High School graduate or GED
- Must have proven ability to read, write and communicate in English
- 2 -3 years’ experience in Preweigh/Compounding in nutrition or personal care manufacturing industry.
- Ability to do basic math, which includes but is not limited to addition, subtraction, division, multiplication and percentages
- Must have a valid Driver License
- Must effectively operate forklift; ability to obtain forklift certification
- Computer skills preferred; Microsoft Office and experience with ERP software Deacom is a plus
- Must be able to use different kinds of scales and convert weight measurements
- Must be willing to take instructions and adhere to company and departmental policies
- Must be able to lift, pull, push up to 50 lbs., regularly
- Must be flexible with schedule and available for OT when necessary.
- This position may be exposed on a regular basis to dust particles, allergens and gluten.
