What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lab Tech position at INW Manufacturing, LLC?
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Analysis of samples via FTIR, TLC, Wet Chemistry and other methodologies, as needed.
- Provide sample testing assistance
- Accurate and timely recording of testing parameters on specified documents
- Assist with document control in the lab
- Track testing of all samples, including outsource labs using laboratory database
- Prepare sample runs
- Assisting chemists as needed
- Maintain inventories of chemical reagents in laboratory environment
- Track calibration of equipment and instruments
- Complete verification of equipment and instruments in the lab
- Maintain a safe, clean workplace
- Accountable for the accuracy of results reported
- Proper use and care of laboratory equipment, instruments and reagents
REQUIREMENTS
- Experience in a food or pharmaceutical laboratory preferred
- Associates Degree in a science discipline preferred
- Working knowledge of computers including MS Office applications.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Must be able to understand, speak, read and write in English in order to perform the essential functions of the job as they relate to comprehension of laws, regulations, standards, documents and other internal and external communications.
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations relative to job requirements.
- Attention to detail and the ability to follow complex directions
- Ability to sit and stoop, kneel, and crouch to use equipment.
- Ability to lift 30 pounds occasionally. Reasonable accommodations may be made where necessary.
- Must possess the ability to develop and maintain a teamwork environment.
WORK CONDITIONS
- Subject to atmospheric conditions, such as fumes from reagents, fumes, odors, powders, dust and other particles. PPE and protective equipment is provided.
