What you'll be doing:
The objective of the Solution Engineer role is to engage with new and existing customers on a pre-sales basis and help our sales teams deliver against the customer's requirements and objectives. You will be involved in supporting senior members of the team and working independently through customer meetings, generating appropriate pre-sales materials such as statements of work or proposals, commercial pricing, assist in contracts, solution design documents, etc. You will hold, or be looking to gain, appropriate vendor accreditations in relation to pre-sales and have experience and technical skills, with previous experience as an SME in one or more technology areas.Obectives:
- Perform presales activity such as attending meetings, writing or contributing to proposals, statements of work, RFP responses, contracts, cost models, commercial pricing.
- Working closely with our key strategic vendors as required such as Microsoft, AWS, Dell, VMware, Barracuda, Cohesity, etc.
- Build excellent quality documentation, using the input of others as required and spelling out clearly our desire to deliver customer outcomes.
- Run workshops and meetings in a professional and engaging manner with the achievement of mutually desired solution outcomes.
- Complete all associated administration, ensuring accurate information is recorded.
- Working closely with stakeholders in the Project Management and Build teams to ensure smooth transition of your designed solutions into delivery.
- Adhere to all company policies and processes as communicated by line management in order to maintain corporate ISO accreditation levels.
- Obtain and maintain technical accreditations as required by management in accordance with the guidelines provided by manufacturers and software vendors.
- At all times to provide a courteous service and professional approach to customers and to the delivery of allocated tasks as required.
- Carry out all tasks in line with internal and external SLAs.
- To perform any other duties which, from time to time may be allocated by your Team Lead.
We want to hear from you if you:
- Excellent technical and commercial understanding in creation of technology solutions and outcomes for customers.
- Experience in architecting and being involved with implementing a broad range of technology solutions related to a number of the following; hybrid/public/private cloud, networking, storage, security backup and disaster recovery.
- Experience in contributing to proposals, statements of work, RFP responses, contracts, cost models, commercial pricing, etc.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, enabling the presentation of complex technical solutions.
- Minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience in a customer facing organisation.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience as an SME in one or more relevant technology areas.
- Team player but with the ability to work unaided.
- Strong time management skills and ability to work at pace within a fast moving environment.
