Responsibilities
IOMAXIS is seeking an Assistant Controller to lead and manage daily, monthly, and year-end accounting functions to include General Ledger (GL), Accounts Receivable (AR), Cash Management (CM), Financial Statements & Analysis, and Audit and Compliance Support. Ensures compliance with Company Policy, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), Joint Travel Regulations (JTR), and local/state regulations.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING IN THIS ROLE
- Manage month-end and year-end close process, reporting
- Manage Accounts receivable, general ledger and compliance
- Assist with the preparation and maintenance of all accounting records, ledgers, and reporting systems, ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR).
- Implement and ensure best practices in the company monthly financial close cycle and reporting.
- Oversee preparation of monthly journal entries and general ledger account reconciliations.
- Support audit and state tax compliance activity.
- Assist with the maintenance of internal controls and safeguards for the Company’s accounting transactions, assets, and operations.
- Assist with the development, maintenance of and adherence to company accounting policies and procedures.
- Support Accounts Payable and Payroll staff and manager as needed
- Assist with compliance for local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Perform special projects and ad-hoc financial analysis as assigned by the CFO and Controller
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
Clearance:
- Clearance eligible
Skills/ Capabilities:
- 7 years’ experience in an accounting role.
- Experience with accounting for Federal Government Contracts.
- Experience with job cost accounting systems (JAMIS highly preferred).
- Strong understanding of and experience applying accounting theory and GAAP.
- Strong understanding of and experience applying the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR).
- Prior supervisory experience a must.
- Proven track record in accounting operations and process improvement. Advanced proficiency in Excel.
- Must be a self-starter and capable of working on projects independently. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills. Good personal computer and business solutions software skills
