Responsibilities
IOMAXIS is seeking a Senior Cloud Software Developer to support development and operations. This position is available to candidates within a 2 hour commute of one of these Northern Virginia locations: Arlington-VA, Springfield-VA, Lorton-VA, Fredericksburg-VA. Some travel to the Northern Virginia area may be required. Location description is subject to change.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Senior Cloud Software Developer, the related tasks and duties involve:
- Providing leadership to small teams in software development efforts.
- Providing direction for problem definition, analysis, requirements development, and implementation for systems.
- Directly interfacing with customer working groups on development and integration issues.
- Developing and preparing application documentation, gathering specific information related to the project and applicable technical material.
- Creating and managing virtualized infrastructures via cloud APIs.
- Deploying solutions within public clouds (i.e. AWS, Azure, O365, Google, etc.)
- Building public/hybrid/private cloud solutions via APIs.
- Developing custom APIs to allow customers to leverage solutions.
- Leveraging serverless solutions such as AWS Lambda and Kubernetes to enhance operational capabilities.
- Researching new technologies and solution offerings from cloud providers.
- Working as part of an agile team to develop and deploy secure applications and networking capabilities across cloud providers.
- Mentoring junior employees.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. (Computerscience, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or similar)
- Four additional years of excellent experience may be used in place of a degree.
Clearance
- Must be clearance eligible; current clearance is a plus.
Skills / Capabilities
- Five to Nine (5 - 9) years of experience in software systems, programming, database development, and infrastructure development and administration.
- High proficiency in python.
- Experience with other languages such as C/C , java, and rust.
- 1 years hands-on with cloud technologies such as AWS Lambda, SNS/SQS, S3, EC2, AWSCLI, and VPCs.
- Or Azure/GCP equivalents
- Fluency with CI/CD toolsets such as: Jenkins, Ansible, CloudFormation.
- Working knowledge of distributed architectural design patterns.
- Ability to work and troubleshoot issues independently.
- Strong problem solving and analytic skill ability to handle multiple projects and assignments simultaneously and effectively in a team environment.
- Enjoys taking the initiative to lead efforts and works well with ambiguity.
Desired Qualifications
- Strong practical Linux based systems administration skills and scripting experience in a Cloud based environment.
- Understanding of networking concepts and protocols such as encrypted tunnels, IPSEC, network service configuration, and the TCP/IP stack.
