GENERAL PURPOSE
The Buyer is responsible to process orders, inventory adjustments, and procurement of all supplies and services necessary to ensure timely execution of production and company requirements to meet customer needs in a cGMP environment.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Pricing:
Maintain current pricing documentation in ERP for approved materials and vendors.
Analyze the Total Cost of the formulations (which include raw material, capsule, coating, packaging, pallets, shipping, importing tariff, etc.).
Purchasing:
Process timely and appropriate purchases. Maintain records for purchases employing criteria standards for quality, pricing and materials availability. Every effort shall be employed to ensure all conditions of the purchase maximize economy within criteria standards.
Buying of raw materials, Packaging components and indirect expenses (facility machinery, lab reference standard and R&D supply) managing suppliers and negotiating vendor contracts, terms and price, that meets both internal and external approved quality standards.
Expedite:
Ensure timely arrival of purchased materials. Ensure proper fulfillment of purchases in accordance with standards of quality, quantities, specifications and pricing. Notify R&D and Production of any anticipated or real-time material shortages to ensure minimizing any gaps in meeting customer requirements.
Delivery:
Coordinates Domestic & International shipping for most cost-effective and timely means of delivery.
Manages the inbound shipping of raw material and packaging components; meets production line on time. Ensures that the right quantity is delivered, at the right time, and at the right price, while meeting both internal and external approved quality standards.
A/P Billing:
Function as liaison to ensure correct invoicing of all purchases.
Other duties include, but are not limited to:
- Forecast the raw material and packaging demand.
- Manage inventory control for raw material, packaging also finished products.
- Manage vendor RMA, Due to wrong products and quality issue.
- Maintain relationships with internal customers( including with supply chain; quality; accounting and evaluate vendor qualification and approve the suppliers, also follow-up with quality for vendor performance improvement)
- All other duties assigned by manager.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Requires AA Degree or Business course graduate or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience:
- Working knowledge of GMP manufacturing operation.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in related field.
- Experience with control management systems.
- Proven experience in costing, and sourcing within operational targets.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- ERP System experience, preferably SAP.
- Negotiation skills a must.
- Strong sourcing skills in domestic and overseas markets.
- Scientific and/or food & nutritional background preferred.
- Strong Literacy and numerical skills.
Ability to communicate effectively and proactively with all aspects of the business including Vendors, Purchasing, Quality and Production departments.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Good team building relationship skills.
- Computer skills to include: MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook
- MS Access experience helpful.
