Benefits Data Trust seeks an Information Systems Manager who will oversee the development, implementation, and use of technology throughout the organization and manage the Information Systems Support team. The Information Systems Manager is responsible for addressing technology needs, and telecommunications support activities, determining user requirements, and recommending practical solutions to improve the effective use of technology while ensuring information assets stay secured and protected.

The Information Systems Manager reports to the Senior Director of Information Systems and Technology.

BDT operates under a remote-working protocol and follows CDC guidelines due to COVID-19. BDT has adopted a mandatory vaccination and testing policy to safeguard the health of our employees from the hazard of COVID-19. Employees may request an exemption from the policy by providing documentation for medical or religious reasons if needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise, develop, and manage Information Systems Support staff to meet the organizational needs of users, projects, and technologies
  • Develop standard operating procedures and best practices, including written protocols and guidance to Information System Support staff and users
  • Resolve escalations from first level Information Technology Support team and provide details on solutions to reduce future escalations
  • Communicate regularly and escalate outages with leadership and users in accordance with SLA guidelines
  • Provide technical assistance, support, and troubleshooting in the resolution of system communication failures and issues
  • Evaluate organizational needs and current technology available to recommend software and hardware improvements
  • Plan, schedule, train, and supervise employees in the management information system practices, procedures, and techniques
  • Provide expertise and support during system upgrades, installations, maintenance, and patch management for applications, endpoints, and servers
  • Work closely with the Cybersecurity team to remediate vulnerabilities on endpoints
  • Work closely with the Technology Customer Support team on tickets, projects, and implementation
  • Promote IT and Application Governance by collaborating with teams, creating policies, and procedures as needed

Desired Competencies:

  • Five or more years of progressive IT experience
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team of technical staff, work with leadership, and manage multiple concurrent projects
  • Ability to manage small to medium implementation and upgrade projects
  • Experience with Office 365, Active Directory, Remote Access, VMWare, Windows Server, Windows OS, Mac OS, and Linux
  • Experience with cloud services such as GCP, AWS, Azure
  • Strong desire for automation
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a diverse community
  • Computer Science/Management Information Systems or equivalent education and experience, along with advanced technical or managerial credentials preferred

The salary range starts at $75,000 and is commensurate with relevant experience.
