Mental Health Special Education Teacher

Schedule: Follow school calendar and summer extended school year

The Elizabeth Lee Black School is a Nationally designated “School of Excellence” for 14 years and approved private school that offers a range of educational program choices designed to help all children achieve their potential.

This Special Education Teacher will work in the Mental Health Partial program. This responsible role will be enthusiastic and committed to supporting the physical, mental, and behavioral needs of ELBS students in the program. Candidates should have experience working in the mental health field. Responsibilities include designing and implementing Individualized Education Plans for learners with special needs, integrating Behavior Analytic principles into classroom management, keeping records of the students’ progress, routines, and interests, and keeping parents informed about their child’s development.

Mental Health Special Education Teacher Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Education, Psychology, or related field
• PA Special Education certification not required; emergency teaching certification accepted
• Experience working in the mental health field is required
• Eligibility for State Police Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse History Clearance
• FBI clearance required for individuals who do not meet PA residency requirements
