Job description:
Iowa Irrigation is looking for sub-contractors to assist with snow removal this season. We are looking for dependable, energetic and hard-working individuals dedicated to serving our customers. This position is solely seasonal contract work (1099). Looking for skid loader operators, hand crew leaders and hand crew workers (shoveling/snowblowing). Major focus of work will be in Ames/Ankeny/Des Moines.

Job Summary:
With over 30 years of designing, installing, servicing of commercial, residential and athletic field irrigation systems throughout central Iowa, Iowa Irrigation has become central Iowa’s leading, go to irrigation contractor. We have expanded our snow removal operations to grow our company and are seeking long term sub-contractor partners.

Responsibilities and Duties:
Skid Loader Operators:
  • Manage snow removal/ice control for commercial properties based on weather conditions.
  • Properly clear snow and pile in designated areas.
  • Must follow directions from site coordinator.
  • Must be reliable, trustworthy and honest.
Hand Crew Leader and Crew:
  • Clear sidewalks with shovels/snowblower.
  • Partner with plow truck/skid loader operators on efficient processes to clear snow.
  • Must follow directions from site coordinator.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Must be reliable, trustworthy and honest.
Job Details:
  • Job Type: Seasonal Contract (1099).
  • Compensation: Based on qualifications, experience, equipment.
  • Hourly: $15 -$30 /hour.
  • Work Location: Multiple locations within Central Iowa, Ames and Ankeny area.
Schedule:
  • 8-10 hour shifts depending on snow event.
  • Monday - Friday and Weekends.
Job Type: Contract.

License/Certification:
  • Driver's License (Required).
