SUMMARY This individual will be responsible for the assembly of the load handling system. Typical parts are engine and transmission assemblies, radiators, transfer cases, auxiliary transmission, axles, air systems, hydraulic steering, electric lines, valves, tanks, brackets, linkages, tinware, etc ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES May install hitches, bodies, graders, or other equipment where assembly is predetermined. Cut, fit, bend and adjust parts for fit or function as directed. Drill, ream or tap holes for mounting or clearance as directed. Measure wire, tubing or hose paths and cut tubing to length as directed. Fill batteries and accessory grease points as directed. Start up engine, check dashboard instruments for proper function. Assemblies weigh up to 10,000 lbs. with appropriate handling equipment such as crane, dollies, etc. provided. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Requires the use of simple arithmetic and some measuring instruments such as caliper, scale, and mechanical experience PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Previous heavy manufacturing or assembly experience Previous hydraulic and/or wiring experience beneficial.
