What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Estimator position at iParametrics LLC?
iParametrics is currently seeking a Senior Estimator to support our growing Federal support business in the US. The Senior Cost Estimator/Engineer will report to the Chief Estimator and will be responsible for developing accurate, timely estimates for projects under design and construction. Ideally, the Senior Estimator will be located in our Alpharetta, GA office but for the right candidate, this position may be performed remotely.
Our Cost Estimating business is targeted for growth and has built a strong presence in the market. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and have a solid and varied estimation background. We are looking for an individual with a logical, thorough approach to estimation, combined with strong communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain high standards of professionalism and ethical behavior when representing the Company
- Review project plans, requirements, and specifications
- Effectively manage the estimate and client process from start to finish
- Develop complete understanding of the project and deliverable requirements to ensure timely submissions
- Review preliminary quotes and historical bid data in developing the most accurate cost points
- Prepare parametric and detail cost estimates
- Maintains and communicates data on construction and material cost trends affecting project costs.
- Identifies and quantifies potential cost uncertainties/risks to ensure cost estimates capture the full range of potential costs.
- Updates costs as necessary based on new information and project scope changes.
- Prepare cost submission documents, as well as review the work of other cost professionals
- Understand the General Conditions cost associated with preparing an accurate cost to construct within the US and OCONUS
- Work with Scheduling and A/E to ensure that the estimate aligns with the scope, sequencing, and period of performance.
- Interface with subcontractors, owners, and various departments
Skills / Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Engineering, Construction Management, Technology, or other related discipline preferred
- At least 10 years of estimating experience with DoD design projects; must have experience with a minimum of 50% of the CSI MasterFormat Divisions.
- 7 years of direct experience in the use of the following estimating software: MCACES MII, PACES, RS Means, and an on-screen take-off software (Bluebeam, On Center OST)
- Must have demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office with advanced skills in Excel. Adobe experience is a plus
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, combined with creative solution and problem-solving skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task
- Training in and demonstrated knowledge of construction costs and principles
- Willing and available to travel on an as needed basis
- Must be authorized to work lawfully in the US without sponsorship
- Currently active or willing to obtain the following certifications:
- Certified Cost Professional Certification (CCP) or Certified Estimating Professional Certification (CEP) from AACE
- Life Cycle Cost Certification WENG 400 from the US Air Force AFIT
