What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Strategist - Healthcare position at IPG DXTRA?
JOB DESCRIPTION: SENIOR STRATEGIST
If you're an amazing creative thinker with a passion for politics, business and social impact, we should talk. Weber Shandwick DC is looking for a bright and motivated Senior Strategist to fuel the creative strategy for a range of accounts, from a major public health initiative to social impact campaigns for well-known brands. DC area residency is a plus.
About you: You are endlessly curious about consumer mindsets and the drivers of behavior change. You're savvy to the nuances of politics. You relish in finding just the right words to make your point, and you're up on diverse media platforms and emerging AI technology. You are able to frame a problem, develop succinct "ah ha" insights, and explain what it all means in a simple, compelling story. You're open-minded, inclusive and empathetic. And you can quickly pivot with the unpredictability of today's fast-changing political and cultural environments.
This is a month-in-the-life:
- Support the strategic development and iterative evolution of a major public health campaign
- Conduct secondary desk research, write discussion guides and synthesize primary research findings, and support campaign measurement and evaluation
- Develop creative briefs for Public Service Announcements (PSAs), digital campaigns and earned media activations
- Craft brand narratives and messaging frameworks to provide a north star for client communications
- Assist in the crafting and evaluation of primary quantitative and qualitative research to segment audiences, identify influencers and uncover insights
- Read endlessly and understand fast-moving political and cultural issues
- Leverage emerging insights and events to help re-shape assignments, and optimize campaign strategies based on performance data
- Support the development of clear and engaging client reports and presentations
- Use subscription data tools like MRI, Talkwalker, Mintel and others, when it makes sense, and gets scrappy the rest of the time
- Actively contribute to client meetings, creative brainstorms and strategy sessions
- Cultivate fruitful relationships with key decision-makers across the business including creative and digital strategists, research/analytics experts, and account teams
Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to construct an argument supported by evidence
- An active curiosity about brands, culture and politics
- Knowledge of the media landscape and marketing communications industry
- Comfortable learning how to use media and data analytics tools
- Understanding of primary research (writing discussion guides and survey questions, and analyzing spreadsheet)
- Ability to quickly understand and translate complex business or policy issues
- Able to manage multiple challenging projects for various clients from concept to completion on time and within budget
- Lead peer set in business writing, storytelling and oral communication
- Strong time management, project management and organizational skills
- Desire to contribute to a civil, fast paced, inclusive and positive work environment
- Enjoys working with multiple creative and account management colleagues across diverse experience levels and disciplines
- Proactive, self-starter who can work well both independently and as part of a team
