Position SummaryThe Global Commercial Finance (GCF) department at IPG Mediabrands is tasked with the financial and commercial management of the global clients which include Johnson & Johnson, Amazon, ExxonMobil, Unilever, Sony, American Express, and others. The primary goal of this team is to drive increased global client profitability and revenue across the Mediabrands companies. Mediabrands is a global network and the GCF team frequently interacts with the global markets.
GCF partners with agency leadership in client negotiations, introduces innovative compensation models where possible and provides global financial leadership and best practices. GCF also plays a critical role in new business pitches with respect to compensation and operational response. Mediabrands is a global network and GCF frequently interacts with the global markets. This team is also responsible for regular reporting of Client Profitability and support for the Mediabrands Global CFO on various operational initiatives. This role will support the GCF team in the overall management of global clients.
The Global Client Finance Manager will support the GCF team in the overall management of global clients.
Responsibilities- Work with SVP, Global Managing Partners (GMP), and market leads to review client financial performance against targets, strategically address markets/issues/opportunities, set up regular business review meetings for each client and highlight potential opportunities and risks to GMP
- Manage preparation of client Scope of Work (SOW), compensation negotiations, reporting on media value reporting, contract development (with legal), profitability analysis and reporting, contract maintenance and client required reporting
- Work with SVP and business leads on the commercial portion of new business pitches including: RFP responses, pitch budget management, compensation modelling and contract development
- Collect and analyze financial information from global markets to review with MB Leadership and GMPs and determine proper courses of action and follow ups
- Review and address specific market variances to forecast and target
- Manage and coach direct report (Analyst) through daily tasks and ensuring consistent quality of work
- Ensure compliance across international markets: review reporting and analyze with client finance, marketing and procurement leads
- Support IPG, MB and Client Business Leads with ad-hoc financial information and reports
- Source data as needed from various financial systems and create ad hoc analyses
Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or Economics preferred
- Prior media agency experience required
- At least 5 years of relevant work experience
- Strong analytical skills with a very high level of attention to detail
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Accurate, curious, and efficient in work with excellent communications skills (spoken and written)
- Ability to always find a way to deliver, whether it's by rolling up your sleeves to get it done yourself, managing through influence, or guiding/motivating a team to rally through obstacles with enthusiasm
- Excellent time management skills with an adaptable/flexible attitude
