The Tooling Technician is responsible for activities associated with the fabrication, machining, assembly, debug, targeting and support of tooling. The Tooling Technician may also be assigned to activities associated with the fabrication, assembly, debug and support of complete robotic systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITIES
- Machine, fabricate and assemble components in a manner that will ensure proper adherence to design drawings or instructions.
- Assemble tooling components to insure proper operation when functioning.
- Assist Application Engineers with interpreting layout data and make changes to the tool to produce parts that are within print tolerance and or SPC specifications.
- Interpret and use applicable machine assembly and wiring standards.
- Interpret and use both mechanical prints and electrical schematics.
- Document assembly methods so techniques can be reproduced by peers or end users.
- Interpret and use ordering procedures to obtain parts, equipment and supplies.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area, including all community shop work areas.
- Provide assistance and service to customer as requested.
- Travel to customer sites as requested
- Performs other related work and special projects.
- Works overtime when requested according to company policy.
- Obeys company policies and procedures and observes all safety regulations.
- Authority to add/insert redlines to any Job drawing package during build/programming.
- Authority to recommend changes that will affect more than one job or process according to the ECO/ECR instruction.
- Authority to approve Job changes/drawing packages internally.
- Authority to evaluate PCO design changes/results after changes.
- Authority to evaluate safety and functionality/risk/compliance associated with Job. (ISO 10218-2).
- Authority to purchase on behalf of the company according to spend policy.
- Authority to work out of sequence.
- Authority to inspect for fitness of use.

- General fabrication and welding skills, including fabrication and welding of assemblies from prints as required

- Requires basic knowledge in use of measuring equipment
- Requires ability to effectively communicate with external and internal customers
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Requires two year technical degree. Tool Makers shall possess a journeyman machinist card, or equivalent. Requires two years directly related work experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22C.F.R. §120.15 are required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, asylee. License exception Technology and software under restriction (TSR) defined in 15 CFR 740.6 may permit person from Country Group B.
