Description:
The IPG Integration Technician will be responsible for the powering up, the configuration of auxiliary devices, mechanical and beam alignment, and the setup of calibration functions. The Integration Technician will be responsible for the troubleshooting and testing of laser workstations including their electrical, mechanical, motion, optical, software, and laser subsystems. They will set up and operate laser workstations to meet both machines as well as laser process specifications. Works closely with Production, Applications, Engineering, and Sales to deliver quality products to customers.
Duties:
- Test and troubleshoot a full range of machine technical subsystems including electrical, mechanical, motion, optical, software, and laser systems
- Identify and solve machine hardware and software issues. Work with Production, Applications, and Engineering teams on continuous improvement of the workstations including hardware, software, and laser process optimization
- Set up, characterize, and optimize laser workstations
- Align motion axes using dial indicators, Ball Bar, Linear interferometer
- Perform Galvo Calibration and 2D compensation
- Perform Beam Alignment, conventional, and fiber delivery
- Perform laser focus to find
- Perform laser output checks
Preferred Skills:
- Previous laser systems experience is preferred
- Software and/or controls background preferred
- Previous CAD/CAM, CNC, or robotic systems experience is preferred
Requirements:
- A degree in electrical engineering technology or equivalent experience
- Craftsman skill level with assembly hand tools, light power tools, and electrical measurement tools
- Strong electrical troubleshooting skills in AC and DC circuits
- Ability to read and follow written instructions and schematics
- Data entry skills needed
- Strong communication skills are required for interaction within various groups
- Work independently or as a team
- Set up experiments and able to record data or measurements
- Document all work with care and precision
- Assists in the generation of new product or subassembly documentation and work instructions
- Initial setup, alignment, and verification of precision assemblies at a system level
- Diagnose problems and work with the team to identify and implement solutions
