Position Responsibilities
This position will report directly to the either Senior Project Controller or Mgr. of Project Controls
KEY ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitor and review financial information, updating where necessary in order to identify any anomalies or discrepancies and ensure management has access to up to date and accurate information.
- Proactively research, produce, monitor and analyze cost, workplan or other information to enable analysis of key themes and trends. This would include analyzing weekly and monthly cost data, preparing reports explaining budget variances and forecasting future expenses.
- Manage the day to day relationship with relevant internal parties or employees in order to understand their requirements, deliver appropriate, customized solutions and advice, and build cross-functional working in line with Client’s policies and processes. Assist and coordinate work on projects by contributing to developing project standards and processes to improve project delivery in cost effective manner.
- Independently collate and analyze work unit, costs and financial data within one or multiple areas of the department using pre-determined tools, methods and formats in order to support the department’s decision-making process.
- Work with various Managers and Supervisors to establish and maintain appropriate Scorecards to depict latest cost spending and projected trends
- Build upon technical/professional skills within own area of specialism or of other processes in order to continually grow your personal contribution to the business.
- Monitor financial data in order to highlight potential program cost spikes and any required URB changes or requirements.
- Produce effective resource information and reporting in order to provide insight on costs and PO funding for team members.
- Undertake specific tasks of varying complexity, including cost trending, financial reporting, and problem variance analysis, in order to support colleagues and leads in the various T&D areas.
- Build upon technical skills within cost planning in order to continually grow your personal contribution to the business.
Operations & Administrative
- Manage the storage and transmission of project documents produced by IPS, IPS's clients, and IPS's vendors, subcontractors, and consultants.
- Coordinates and maintains Invoice Process.
- Special projects as assigned.
- Establishes and maintains paper and electronic files for assigned project in accordance with corporate requirements.
- Establishes and maintains electronic indices of project documents throughout the deliverables workflow.
- Generates reports, as required, to meet project requirements.
- Leads the generation and preparation of transmittals for engineering and procurement documents.
- Arranges cataloging, packaging, long-term storage and disposal of project documents at time of project closeout.
- Attends project coordination meetings as required.

- Maintains personal competency in relevant professional areas.
- Maintain Active Certification in Procore.
- Strive to improve to Project Controller - Cost
Qualifications & Requirements
REQUIRED EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS /WORK EXPERIENCE
- College Degree or equivalent.
- A minimum of 2 to 5 years of Cost Control experience in the A/E/C industry.
- A minimum of 3 years of QA experience
- Must have High Level of Computer Aptitude must excel in MS Products
- Possess excellent communication skills to deal effectively with all contacts – public, professional and craft
CONTEXT AND ENVIRONMENT AND SAFETY
- Safety minded individual that must comply with IPS Mission Zero Safety policy
- Travel based on the project location.
- This position is a safety sensitive position. The employee is designated for field work and attends activities at client sites where they work in construction, process, packaging, manufacturing, research or other "non-administrative" areas.
DEMONSTRATED COMPETENCIES
- Knowledge and understanding of where to find and how to present relevant information.
- Experience of using project/contract management systems in order to understand and analyze data. Experience is often acquired through on the job training.
- Proficient in relevant software e.g. Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Project)
- Knowledge of PSEG business operations, company policies and practices.
- Operating experience working with SAP and the Ability to read and interpret financial reports in SAP
Key characteristics & accountabilities for the successful individual are as follows:
- Basic working knowledge of electric distribution systems, civil construction.
- Knowledge of specification and contract enforcement, applicable technical standards, OSHA and other regulatory statutes.
- Knowledge of trade agreements, procedures, techniques, work methods and standards used in the construction industry.
- Administrative skills for effective monitoring of contractor progress, cost control and contractual interpretation matters.
