Position Summary:

This position is located onsite at our Jacksonville, FL office.Candidates must be willing to work onsite full-time.

IQ Fiber is looking for an experienced accounting manager to join our team. Our Accounting Manager works collaboratively with our VP, Controller on a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, month end close activities, financial reporting, auditing, year-end tax preparation, and the support of budget and forecast activities.

The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced, start-up environment and have a strong attention to detail along with analytical, statistical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. CPA certification is strongly preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage month end close process to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial reporting in compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements
• Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements
• Prepare reports for company executives and stakeholders, maintaining standards and processes for accurate and timely financial management
• Lead and develop direct reports
• Prepare monthly and quarterly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts
• Review and ensure accuracy of accruals
• Work with outside accounting firm to ensure a clean and timely audit and year-end tax reporting
• Track actual financial performance against budgets and forecasts, investigating and explaining variances
• Assist in the preparation of all documentation and information required for Board meetings
• Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement
• Assist with developing and monitoring quarterly and annual budgets and financial forecasts
• Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes, improve efficiency, and enhance internal controls
• Implement best practices and standardized procedures across the accounting function
• Participate in system implementations and upgrades to enhance financial reporting and analysis capabilities
• Other duties as assigned
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance. Other degrees may be considered
• CPA designation is strongly preferred
• 3 - 5 years of practical accounting experience
• Team management and leadership experience
• Thorough knowledge of US GAAP
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
• Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, without losing attention to detail
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial analysis tools, including Pivot Tables and VLookup
• Experience with NetSuite is highly desirable
• Proactively look to improve on processes; never satisfied with the status quo
• Adaptable to multiple and frequent changes in business environment
• Effective cross-departmental collaboration skills
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
