The centralized staff development instructor is a clinical expert responsible for Arnot Health's system-wide educational programs for staff to meet federal and state accreditation, regulatory mandates, quality management recommendations, and new policies and procedures for staff. This position is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating educational programs such as new employee orientation, certifications (CPR,ACLS,PALS), mandates, regulations, accreditation, and quality management outcomes. In addition, serving on committees, task forces, and work groups on a voluntary and appointed basis at the Division of Nursing level and demonstrates a sound knowledge base, a high level of clinical experiences and decision-making.
EDUCATION:
Current NYS nursing license. B.S. in Nursing or related field required. M.S. in Nursing desirable. BLS instructor certified. ACLS instructor certified within a year.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 3 years of appropriate nursing practice preferred. Excellent communication and writing abilities.
Teaching experience preferred.
CARDIOPULMONARY RESUSCITATION (CPR) REQUIREMENTS:
Basic Life Support (BLS) due within 90 days of hire date. Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months of hire date.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Light physical effort required. Moderate-heavy objects lifted, some reaching and stooping. Required to be on feet much of the time.
INFECTION CONTROL:
Performs all aspects of universal precautions when engaging in patient care
