Position: Executive Director of Administrative Services
Reports To: Deputy Superintendent
Salary/Status: State Salary Schedule/Full-time, 12 months
Status: Full-Time, Permanent, 12 Months
Qualifications:
- At least five years of school administrator experience
- At least a Master’s degree
- A valid North Carolina administrator license
- K-12 teaching experience
- Though people orientation is required, attention to detail is imperative

General Definition of Work
The Executive Director of Administrative Services is responsible for assisting the Deputy Superintendent with leadership and supervision in school discipline and behavioral management. This position oversees discipline and behavioral management strategies braided through the Multi-tiered System of Support Process. Employee performs responsible services to carry out Board of Education policies and procedures related to a wide variety of programs and activities under the direction of the Deputy Superintendent.
Place of Work
The normal place of work is on the premises used by Iredell-Statesville Schools. Iredell-Statesville Schools reserves the right to require you to work at such other place or places as it may reasonably require from time to time.
Essential Functions
- Adheres to all state, federal, and local laws, policies, and procedures
- Provides oversight for student discipline, alternative school assignment, student attendance, student assignment
- Collaborate with administrators and other personnel at the school level on discipline situations and behavioral management strategies.
- Collaborate with the transportation department in conjunction with other school-level personnel on discipline situations and behavioral management strategies.
- Oversees district behavior management team and coordinates observations to develop, implement, support, and evaluate support plans for all personnel.
- Maintains the district behavior matrix and provide updates to schools as necessary
- Coordinate with Executive Director of Student Information on reportable offenses to maintain state mandated reports
- Implement a problem-solving model through the framework of the Multi-Tiered System of Support
- Oversees district Positive Behavior Intervention Support initiative
- Coordinates and supervises parent complaints or grievances; investigates claims and writes reports; shares policy and procedures with stakeholders
- Manages the collection and completion of required data; investigates issues and writes reports
- Complete local, state, or federal surveys and reports accurately and promptly
- Supervises and coordinates discipline, suspensions and disciplinary hearings
- Collaborates with transportation on discipline of students
- Provides leadership and support for principals and assistant principals
- Develops and presents professional development opportunities and training for principals and other personnel on a variety of topics, including: behavior management, health services, social work, homebound services, crisis planning and communication.
- Facilitates and oversees the departments budgets and approves all expenditures associated with the programs
- Participates in professional development workshops and leadership training
- Creates an inclusive environment with positive communication/public relations
- Responsible for the development of the department’s improvement plan
- Performs related work as assigned or required

- Comprehensive knowledge of school board and administrator objectives, procedures and organization

Education and Experience
- Master’s degree in education administration, or related field and extensive experience working in education leadership as an administrator, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Special Requirements
- Possess and maintain a NC Driver’s License
- Must maintain a safe driving record
- Travel to school district buildings and professional meetings
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
- Work requires the exertion of 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
- Work regularly requires exchange of accurate and detailed information through oral and written communication
- Constantly operates a computer and other office business equipment
- Ability to remain in stationary position for required meetings/work
- Ability to move to other work locations
- Visual acuity requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, operating machines, operating motor vehicles or equipment, and observing general surroundings and activities
- Hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels, and to receive detailed information through oral communications

- Work occasionally requires exposure to outdoor weather conditions
- Worker is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions and noise

- Must be adaptable to performing under mild to high levels of stress
- Must be on-call as a regular part of the job
