The Tax Manager – APAC will partner with the Head of Group Tax & Financial Control to ensure Iress meets all tax compliance, reporting and governance requirements within the Asia Pacific region (APAC), and provide tax advice and support to the Iress business on all direct and indirect tax matters. Some of the awesome things you’ll be involved with: Tax compliance Managing the preparation and review of Australian and APAC tax filings, including: Australian and APAC country income tax returns and documentation Periodic BAS/VAT returns Other tax compliance items including Fringe Benefits Tax returns; withholding tax obligations, tax installment obligations, employment tax returns Working with APAC finance teams and external advisers on foreign tax compliance obligations Supporting the APAC finance team and business with tax compliance related queries Tax accounting and reporting Managing the preparation and review of periodic tax effect accounting and statutory reporting. Working with the broader finance teams in preparation and review of tax statutory reporting workings Preparation of supporting documentation for tax disclosures in all statutory reports Working with external advisors and independent auditors to resolve statutory tax related queries Tax advisory Providing tax advice to the Iress Group on APAC business transactions Working with APAC finance and legal teams to understand new and proposed transactions Research and analysis of tax impacts on proposed business transactions Preparation of tax notes to file on tax technical issues impacting the Iress Group Tax governance Managing tax risk and governance across the APAC region, including: Ensuring that tax related matters are managed in accordance with the Group’s tax risk appetite Implementing tax controls and testing in accordance with the Group’s tax policies and risk framework Supporting the preparation of tax reporting to the Group’s Audit & Risk Committee Considering the impact of tax-related Government announcements (in APAC) on Iress Contributing to the tax technical knowledge of the Group tax and finance teams and increasing tax awareness throughout the business What you will bring: Professional Qualification (e.g. CA, CPA, Chartered Tax Advisor, etc.) 5 years of tax experience with professional services or in-house corporate (experience in multinational and/ or ASX-listed environments preferred) Strong knowledge in Australian tax compliance and tax accounting Practical knowledge and experience in a broad range of taxes including corporate tax, GST, FBT, withholding tax and R&D claims Experience in maintaining and implementing tax policies and procedures Strong organisational skills with ability to manage own time and work independently Why work with us? 8 additional paid days per year to extend your weekends Hybrid working Generous cash bonus for every successful referral Annual Profit Share when Iress meets its annual profit targets Starting school leave - 8.5 days of leave to assist your children with the transition to school Up to 26 weeks’ paid parental leave for primary carers (up to 4 weeks for secondary carers), and the ability to work part-time when returning to work 3 days’ paid leave per year to participate in charity initiatives Discounted health insurance premiums Access to learning and development programs through Udemy Iress is committed to fostering a welcoming and inclusive culture.
