Position Summary, Job Requirements & Responsibilities
What We’re Looking For:
Embark on an exhilarating journey as a CM/DM Analyst at Iridium! In this role, you'll be a key player in supporting various commercial and government programs, focusing on maintaining technical and programmatic baselines, tracking changes, and managing data deliverables for project contracts.
As part of our Configuration Management/Data Management (CM/DM) function, you'll be instrumental in maintaining critical documentation, evaluating changes, and ensuring consistency in product attributes throughout their life cycles. You'll play an important role in risk management planning, identification, analysis, monitoring, and control, contributing to our systematic approach in managing, documenting, and updating risk factors.
What You’ll Do:
- Support Systems Engineering and Program Management in the identification of project/program configuration items and associated configuration documentation
- Maintain technical and programmatic baselines and release configuration documentation and other technical and programmatic documents into a CM-controlled repository
- Facilitate change control boards and track change records from creation to implementation and closure
- Facilitate configuration reviews and audits and create audit data packages
- Store, record, and track contract data deliverables (including transmittal of documents to customers and receiving documents from suppliers)
- Interact with customers and suppliers around contract deliverable processes, including disposition of data items and methods of transmitting data items
- Perform contract closeout duties relating to data deliverables
- Set up and administer Iridium CM/DM tools
- Train project team members (including, when appropriate, customers, external partners, and/or suppliers) to use Iridium CM/DM tools and processes
- Produce CM- and DM-related metrics and supply to project/program stakeholders
- Work with program stakeholders to develop and implement high- and detailed-level CM and DM-related processes, procedures, and policies
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, customers, and subcontractors to ensure compliance with internal, customer, and contract CM/DM requirements, as well as regulatory requirements.
- Provide on-the-job training to more junior team members
Experience & Education Requirements / EEO
What You’ll Need to Succeed:
- Associate’s degree or equivalent in an administrative or technical major or related field
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in Configuration Management, preferably within the Aerospace or Telecommunications fields
- At least 1 year of relevant experience in contract Data Management, preferably within the Aerospace or Telecommunications fields
- Knowledge of configuration management principles and practices for hardware, software, and data, including CM planning, configuration identification, change management, document release, and baseline processes
- Experience with configuration and data management tools (e.g., PDM/change tracking/document repository tools)
- Experience with and understanding of standard practices and terminology related to Contract/Subcontract Date Requirements Lists (CDRLs/SDRLs), Data Item Descriptions (DIDs), and Project Work Statements/Statements of Work, including SDRL/CDRL item management and contract close-out
- Ability to develop, document, and implement plans, processes, and procedures
- Ability to accurately and consistently follow detailed procedures
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to confidently present products, deliverables, analyses, and/or issues
- Possess an analytical mindset, with the ability to understand a situation or problem and think critically to make decisions or come up with solutions
- Be comfortable managing upward, including being a proactive communicator and asking for help when needed
- Have confidence and be able to establish valuable relationships with others
- Must be able to prioritize key tasks and have a strong sense of ownership over your work
- Be active in seeking out ways to continuously improve yourself and gain new knowledge
Things That Would be Great if You Brought to the Table:
- CM and/or DM Certification, e.g., Configuration Management Training Foundation (CMTF) certification or National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) Configuration and Data Management (CDM) Professional Certification
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- Knowledge of military/USG CM and DM practices
- Knowledge of supplier CM/DM management
- Knowledge of PDM systems and tools
- Experience with/knowledge of Agile processes
- Experience with Atlassian Jira
- A Secret or Top-Secret clearance
- Knowledge of the basic principles and practices of project management and quality assurance
We’ll also need you to:
- Securit or Top-Secret clearance
- Must be a US citizen
Work Environment:
This position primarily works in the company office or in a home office. The position is largely sedentary with the majority of the position sitting in a chair and working with a computer. The role uses basic office equipment including a phone, video, computer, keyboard, mouse, and printer.
