What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sound Designer position at Ironwood Studios?
Ironwood Studios is a new Seattle based AA game studio composed of experienced developers. We’re looking for a Sound Designer to join our small team to bring our game’s sound to life in our first unannounced title, a genre-bending, systems-driven 3D game set in a surreal and mysterious world.
As the primary sound designer at the studio, your main responsibilities will be bringing the world to life in sound by crafting and implementing incredible sound effects that support the overall creation tone and direction of a unique world and game.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create sounds for environments, user interface, gameplay elements, and player actions using original sound recordings or library sources
- Implement audio in Unreal using Wwise events
- Organize and maintain the Wwise project
- Collaborate with engineering, techart, and art teams to design and implement interactive audio systems
- Participate in team brainstorming bringing your ideas and experiences to the table for various aspects of the game
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
- At least 1 shipped title OR comparable experience (mods, etc)
- Experience working with Unreal and familiarity with its technical constraints
- Experience working with Audiokinetic Wwise in an Unreal integration
- Has an excellent audio portfolio clearly demonstrating your skill set
- Experience working with version control (we use Perforce)
- Experience field recording and maintaining sound libraries
BONUS POINTS:
- Comfortable in small development team settings (less than 25)
- Basic or higher experience with technical audio engineering (maintaining the Wwise integration, scripting, etc)
- Experience with console audio requirements and technical capabilities
- Experience implementing vehicle sounds, including interactive engines
- Experience interfacing with and guiding outsourced sound design
