What are the responsibilities and job description for the MTSS/EL Paraprofessional position at Iroquois County Unit 9?
Job Description: This position will work directly with the MTSS team to support English Language Learners in Reading and Math as well as developing skills that assist them academically and socially. This position will work with students both in the classroom and small group settings.
Qualifications
- Valid Paraprofessional licensure or the willingness to obtain. The ability to speak and understand Spanish.
Duties
- Reports to: RtI Instruction teachers, and building administration.
- Demonstrate effective organizational skills, time management, and flexibility in order to meet student and building needs.
- Assist with individual students and small groups in reading and math during push in and pull out opportunities during the school day.
- Assist in the development and implementation of EL Individualized Learning Plans.
- Assist the RtI Coordinators in compiling reading and math data.
- Demonstrate knowledge of students’ needs, including but not limited to: educational, social/emotional, and behavioral.
- Provide Direct Tier 2 support for targeted students
- Be able to use technology applications to translate documents for students.
- Assists RTI team with make up testing for STAR, IAR, and Science Assessment tests.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all matters pertaining to students and personnel.
- Assume all duties and responsibilities assigned by the building administration and RtI Coordinator.

SCHEDULING
The work hours for this position vary from building to building. The schedule is subject to change with district demands. Overtime is required when requested.
