Middle School Math/Science Maternity Leave Teacher
Irvine Hebrew Day School is looking for enthusiastic, collaborative, and creative teachers to foster children's intellectual and social development in a highly collaborative educational Jewish environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:
● Teach math and science to our small 6th and 7th/8th grades
● Develop lesson plans and instructional materials and provide individualized, small group, and whole group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student.
● Use a variety of instructional strategies, such as inquiry-based methods, group discussion, experiential learning, and project-based learning.
● Establish and maintain standards of student behavior needed to achieve a positive atmosphere in the classroom utilizing a Positive
Discipline approach to classroommanagement.
● Evaluate students’ academic and social growth, keep appropriate records, and prepare progress reports three times per year.
● Communicate with parents through face-to-face meetings, regular email, conferences, and other means to discuss students’ progress.
● Create an effective environment for learning through functional and attractive displays, bulletin boards, and interest centers.
● Maintain an organized classroom environment that is conducive to successful learning
● Demonstrate a pioneering spirit and passion for building our school community
● Prepare individualized goals for each student
● Participate in scheduled on-site professional development programs, staff meetings, parent-teacher conferences, school-wide events, off-site field trips, and IHDS Board Meet and Greet
● Identify materials and modalities necessary to meet learning objectives
● Prepare and maintain a safe, organized, healthy, academically, and behaviorally effective classroom environment appropriate to ongoing and changing classroom activities and in accordance with all accrediting, regulatory, and governing organizations
● Complete all necessary paperwork in a timely manner, including weekly lesson plans, weekly and quarterly student progress report cards and assessments, and annual goals
● Implement best practices in education and pedagogy and innovative methodologies
● Assumes responsibilities outside of the classroom, such as lunch duty and recess duty
● Additional responsibilities as instructed by the Principal.

Pay: From $65,000.00 per year
