The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience in all phases of the litigation process
- Ability to effectively set priorities, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects for several attorneys
- Ability to search database programs and assist with organizing, summarizing and/or categorizing documents.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Exceptionally well organized and detail oriented
- Adaptable to changing priorities; flexible
- Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to interact with all levels of firm personnel, clients, other counsel, and vendors.
- Proficient in Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- 5 years defense litigation experience
- The ability to manage a case all the way through trial preparation / trial attendance
- Providing support to the attorneys with trial preparation through:
- Management of the scheduling order and deadlines therein
- Preparation of Witness/Exhibit Lists, Pre-Trial Inserts and Pre-Trial Orders
- Requesting/preparing trial subpoenas (State & Federal Courts)
- Scheduling trial testimony of experts & clients
- Basic legal research skills (Westlaw)
- Minor pleading drafting (routine motions)
- Bachelor’s degree or Paralegal Certificate preferred
