Appraisal Department Manager

Position Title: Appraisal Department Manager
Reports To: Chief Credit Officer
Responsibilities:

• Supervises, trains and mentors the Appraisal Department staff.
• Communicate and coordinate with appraisal department staff, credit department, and with lending staff to determine proper appraisal or evaluation scope of assignment.
• Assist in the placement of appraisal orders (letters of engagement) and the review of appraisal reports to ensure proper valuation techniques and the resultant value is acceptable to the bank.
• Prepare and complete the review of evaluations in conformity to regulatory guidelines and safe and sound lending practices.
• Communicate the results of the appraisal review with the credit department, loan officer, and support staff.
• Work with lending staff on resolving issues that arise from the appraisal and evaluation reports that would require attention or may affect the consummation of the loan.
• Assumes any other duties as needed to ensure the proper and efficient handling of appraisals, evaluations, or other departmental business.

Qualifications:
Education/Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred
• Certified General Appraisal License is preferred
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the commercial, agricultural, and residential real estate valuation field is required
• Working knowledge of obtaining sales and listing data for real estate is preferred
• Prior experience in the supervision of staff is preferred
