Position Title: Appraisal Department Manager Reports To: Chief Credit Officer Responsibilities:
Supervises, trains and mentors the Appraisal Department staff.
Communicate and coordinate with appraisal department staff, credit department, and with lending staff to determine proper appraisal or evaluation scope of assignment.
Assist in the placement of appraisal orders (letters of engagement) and the review of appraisal reports to ensure proper valuation techniques and the resultant value is acceptable to the bank.
Prepare and complete the review of evaluations in conformity to regulatory guidelines and safe and sound lending practices.
Communicate the results of the appraisal review with the credit department, loan officer, and support staff.
Work with lending staff on resolving issues that arise from the appraisal and evaluation reports that would require attention or may affect the consummation of the loan.
Assumes any other duties as needed to ensure the proper and efficient handling of appraisals, evaluations, or other departmental business.
Qualifications: Education/Experience
Bachelor’s Degree preferred
Certified General Appraisal License is preferred
Minimum 5 years of experience in the commercial, agricultural, and residential real estate valuation field is required
Working knowledge of obtaining sales and listing data for real estate is preferred
Prior experience in the supervision of staff is preferred
