Material Handler

Job Description:

• To provide shipping, receiving, storage and order fulfillment services for HARZARDOUS and NON HARZARDOUS finished goods, inventory and materials at the assigned facility(s).
• Picks, prepares, packages, labels and ships all HARZARDOUS and NON HARZARDOUS material according to prescribed regulations using proper dispatching equipment.
• Oversee the shipment of HARZARDOUS and NON HARZARDOUS materials and/or finished goods in a timely manner according to customer requirements.
• Lead and/or participate in special projects requiring research and/or coordination of special services related to the receiving, shipping, and inventory control of HARZARDOUS and NON HARZARDOUS goods.
• May perform other related duties as required and/or assigned. Must be willing to work overtime and

weekends as required.

Minimum Language Requirements:

• English Proficiency is required for the role. English proficiency entails reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension in English.
• This will be evaluated in the screening process and with assessment. High school diploma/GED required.

Nature and Scope:

• This position interacts with all levels of internal personnel, vendors, and customers. That interaction requires strong oral and written communication skills and customer service skills. Effectiveness in this role also requires functional knowledge of corporate operations and the facility layout. The job encounters recurring work situations of moderate scope and complexity with occasional variations from the norm. Ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice is required. Accuracy is required in performing all functions of this position; errors in work could cause delays in schedules. The incumbent normally receives general instruction on routine work and new assignments.

Minimum Qualifications (must have):

• A High School diploma is required. Professional certification preferred.

Experience:

• Proven ability to organize and consistently run a smooth cost-effective operation. Requires demonstrated leadership skills and abilities.
• Must demonstrate ability to lead by example and exemplify the Life Technologies behavior standards.
• Must have strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate processes, timelines and schedules clearly. Strong problem-solving skills required.
• Have basic computer skills. MS Word and Outlook

Preferred Qualifications (nice to have):

• Working knowledge of business computer software required and logistics-related applications desired.
