What you’ll do
The Solutions Architect reports to the Director of Cloud Architecture and works with other senior leaders to develop and manage new solutions and their implementation to address business challenges, improve customer service and advance emerging technologies.
In this role, you will manage the technology integration process and handle the many responsibilities of identifying innovative solutions and bringing them to fruition in order to best benefit the overall goals of iSeatz and its partners.
Your Impact
- Collaborate closely with the Director of Cloud Architecture to shape and drive the company's overarching technology strategy, aligning it with business goals and ensuring a forward-looking approach
- Lead the ideation and execution of new and existing technology initiatives, providing strategic insights and ensuring alignment with the company's long-term vision
- Oversee the lifecycle of the architecture creation, from the initial concept creation through the completion of the design, ensuring architectural decisions align with strategic objectives of iSeatz, including especially future scalability and adaptability in design
- Develop and mature processes for ongoing updates of the Architecture, ensuring it remains accurate, dynamic, and responsive to changes throughout the Software Development lifecycle
- Identify and champion promising areas of research and technology that address unmet needs, with emphasis on their potential for future solutions and contributing to the company's innovation strategy
- Collaborate with the technical teams to see the transition of the designs into an operational status
- Play a leadership role in Architectural Review Board planning and meetings, guiding discussions towards strategic goals and ensuring alignment with company-wide technology initiatives
- Spearhead the development of proposed cost models, evaluating the impact of innovation on existing and potential service offerings and aligning architectural decisions with cost-effectiveness and long-term sustainability
- Governance for architectural solutions, analyzing the impact of innovative approaches on existing service offerings and proposing adjustments to enhance overall efficiency
- Evaluate the progress of architectural designs and adjust the pace or direction of new projects
- Foster collaboration with other technical teams, Customer Success Team, and clients by listening to concerns and needs; follow up with research, in order to understand and propose more cost effective, efficient, and maintainable solutions and approaches to business and technical problems
- Monitor the technology landscape as a whole, looking for new or evolving solutions we can exploit to enhance our product line.
- Assure effective roadmaps for new solutions, ensuring they align with the company's strategic vision and do not result in stranded investments
What you bring to the table
- Ten years or more professional-level experience in leading IT architecture solutions
- Demonstrated, deep understanding and expertise in major AWS technologies including S3, SQS, SNS, EC2, API Gateway, Lambda
- Experience with serverless technology deployment and architecture
- ECS, EKS/Kubernetes and related deployment services
- CDK/Cloudformation
- Excellent working knowledge and experience delivering software in a variety of programming languages and paradigms including Ruby, Java and JavaScript/TypeScript. Functional development experience is a plus, including languages such as Rust and Elixir.
- Good understanding of React and related technical stacks as related to the development of single page applications
- Expertise and knowledge of REST API design
- Experience in asynchronous and event-driven architecture design and deployment
- Expertise in messaging systems and use cases
- Excellent understanding of the development lifecycle including developer productivity and happiness when designing solutions.
- SQL and RDBMS technology experience
- Knowledge of all the major authentication and authorization technology stacks (OAuth2, SAML, OpenID) and when and how to use them.
- Experience designing and implementation of SSO solutions
Bonus Points
- Relevant experience in the travel technology and loyalty space
- Experience with AWS CI/CD technologies
- Experience in designing ETL solutions
- Experience in large scale database migration strategies and implementations
- PostgreSQL or Snowflake experience
- Experience in legacy integrations (SOAP v1/v2, XML over HTTP, etc)
- DynamoDb data modeling experience
Location
This role is remote and can be located anywhere inside the continental United States. iSeatz is a New Orleans-based company with Central Time Zone business hours, but feel free to work from your home office, from the beach, or from the cottage you rented for the summer!
