About us

Islah LA is a nonprofit in the heart of South Los Angeles, dedicated to uplifting our community while implementing programs designed to end the cycle of poverty. We provide vital social services to the inner city including housing, food security, and financial assistance. Currently, we're seeking an experienced grant writer with a proven ability to connect with and support disadvantaged communities. This team member will play a pivotal role in securing the additional funding necessary to expand and enhance Islah LA's services within the inner city.

Responsibilities: - Research, write, and edit grant proposals for funding opportunities - Collaborate with program managers and staff to gather information for grant proposals - Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the organization's programs and initiatives - Conduct prospect research to identify potential funding sources - Prepare budgets and financial reports for grant proposals - Ensure compliance with grant requirements and reporting deadlines - Maintain accurate records of all grant activities - Collaborate with other departments to gather data and information needed for grant applications - Stay up-to-date on current trends and best practices in grant writing Requirements: - Proven experience in grant writing, preferably in a nonprofit setting - Strong written communication skills, with the ability to write clear, concise, and compelling proposals - Excellent research and analytical skills - Proficiency in using databases and other resources for prospect research - Knowledge of budgeting principles and the ability to develop accurate budgets for grant proposals - Attention to detail and strong proofreading skills - Ability to work independently and meet deadlines - Familiarity with fundraising software. Employee may perform other related duties as negotiated to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: Up to $50.00 per hour

Expected hours: 5 – 15 per week
