Job Posting: Director of Education Islamic Center of Rochester

Islamic Center of Rochester is looking for an Education Director to oversee its Full-Time Islamic School (West fall academy) as well as part-time weekend school(s).

Full Time Islamic School, WFA Pre-K to 5th grade

The successful candidate must provide vision and leadership to guide the ICR efforts to continue its upward education trajectory, to help provide a premier educational experience to ICR students and help design and execute a plan for WFA’s mission and educational goals.

Responsibilities: Function:

The Principal of WFA is primarily responsible for providing central administrative leadership for all the schools core and ancillary programs. The individual in this position will be responsible for coordinating programming, maintaining quality control and delivery of existing programs, and developing opportunities for collaborative efforts.

● Ensures a viable curriculum for all students. Develop, implement, and continually refine the educational curriculum for students.

● Leads efforts to ensure all teaching and staff positions are filled and effectively recruits to fill vacant positions.

● Supervises, observes, and evaluates teachers and staff.

● Help build, promote, and set goals for a long-term plan for the school.

● Must be willing to use systematic, effective and data-based strategies to address behavioral issues.

● Must establish a good rapport with students

● Provide visionary leadership for the Islamic schools and educational programs, aligning them with the center's mission and values.

● Build strong relationships with parents, families, and the broader community to ensure a collaborative approach to education.

● Manage the educational budget effectively, allocating resources where they are needed to support the growth and development of the educational programs.

● Be prepared to handle any educational crises or challenges that may arise, taking appropriate action in consultation with the center's leadership.

● Explore and implement modern educational technologies to enhance the learning experience.

● Foster an engaging and nurturing learning environment where students are inspired to learn and grow.

Minimum Qualifications:

● Prefer Candidates with minimum master’s degree in education and 3 years’ experience in academic administration. Candidates should be energetic and motivated to lead a growing school. A strong record of academic and other accomplishments to qualify him/her to be a school leader.

● A master’s degree or higher in Education or a related field.

● Demonstrated leadership and management experience in an educational setting., particularly in an Islamic school.

● Knowledge of curriculum development, assessment, and educational best practices.

● Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

● Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and the community.

● Strong organizational and administrative skills.

● Proficiency in modern educational technology.

● A passion for fostering a positive and inclusive educational environment.

● Demonstrated written/oral communication skills and interpersonal skills.
● US citizen or permanent resident (Green Card holder).

Preferred Qualifications:

● Teacher certification or equivalent
● Ability to guide and inspire an organization.
● A track record of increasing administrative responsibility and leadership experience.
