Job Posting for Corporate Director of Human Resources at Island Hospitality Management-Corporate Office
Island Hospitality is currently seeking a Corporate Director of Human Resources to carry out responsibilities in some of the following functional areas: employee relations, employee recognition, training, and labor relations (union avoidance).
Position Requirement
Track, maintain, and educate on regulatory compliance for a multi-jurisdiction employer
Ensure all procedures comply with legal requirements and best practices
Analyze the effectiveness of HR operations, policies, and procedures
Prepare management reports using business metrics and KPIs
Partner with Team Members and management to communicate various Human Resources policies, procedures, laws, standards, and government regulations
Responds to Team Member relation issues such as Team Member complaints
Facilitates and/or provides training (including orientation) to the workforce
Adhere to terms of labor contract by monitoring the day-to-day implementation of policies concerning wages, hours, and working conditions
Represent management in investigating, answering, and settling grievances by arranging and scheduling grievance hearings between union personnel, supervisors, and the management team
Respond to all EEOC and/or NLRB charges and legal claims
Submit EEO and other agency filings, as required by law
Review and approve terminations, as applicable
Position Qualifications
Proven experience in senior Human Resources role
Ability to travel up to 25% of the schedule
Experience in strategic planning and implementation
Excellent leadership qualities and organizational skills
Deep knowledge of Human Resources functions
Ability to use metrics and analytics
Knowledge of local and international labor laws
Aptitude in communicating and public speaking
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems
Ability to objectively coach employees and management through complex, difficult, and emotional issues
Ability to research and analyze legislation
Must have the ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve problems or issues by using judgment that is consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, and regulation
BSc/BA in business, HR, social sciences, or related field is preferable
The starting pay rate for this position is $110,000.00
Certification (e.g. PHR/SPHR) is ideal
