Job Title: Retail Associate

SUMMARY Assists guests with selecting and purchasing merchandise in park giftshops. Must be able to maintain a clean work environment, stock merchandise as shop requires, and assist with monthly inventory of merchandise. Responsible for delivering better than the best customer service while enforcing all park policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Have excellent customer service and sales skills
- Operate a register accurately
- Keep the gift shop clean and organized
- Provide a friendly and welcoming environment for all guests
- Be knowledgeable about the park and enforce all policies
- Good communication skills
- All other duties as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
None but does have potential for growth into supervisorial position
QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to learn the register
- Good communication skills
- Reading and Writing
- Must be 16 years of age
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Must be at least 16 years of age
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Be able to speak in the English language. Able to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence and complete reports detailing guest interactions. Ability to effectively present information and give directions with customers and employees.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in both written and verbal form. Ability to deal with problems involving many variables.

The associate is occasionally required to lift and or move 50 pounds or more. The associate is required to unload shipments of product and stock the backrooms as well as the gift shop. The associate is also required to stand for periods of time in and out of the gift shop.
