What are the responsibilities and job description for the Product Owner position at ISO?

We are looking for a Product Owner / Business Analyst to collaborate with business, technology, and management within Verisk to shape, implement and oversee product deliveries within the Core Lines product suite.
The PO serves as the responsible party for feature offerings on a new customer-facing digital platform. In this role, you will conduct research and analysis, write requirements and ship product in partnership with content and technical stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Drive product development across software development and go-to-market cycles, including creating user stories and acceptance criteria. Provide backlog management, iteration planning, and elaboration of the user stories.
- Work closely with Product Manager(s) to create and maintain a product backlog according to business value or ROI. Contribute specific understanding of assigned scope to the overall product roadmap.
- Facilitates and participates in collaboration activities with both business and technical stakeholders to engineer requirements
- Develop use cases, user stories and other forms of documentation as need to express business needs to technical teams
- Conduct or coordinate market, competitive and customer research to identify and document customer needs for assigned products, services, or segments.
- High attention to detail through proofing, follow through and scheduling
- Participate in project planning
- Ensure the right level of tracking and transparency on milestones is maintained
- Monitor project(s) results for deviations
- The drive for self-development, the ability to collaborate, and an action-oriented work ethic
Requirements:
- Strong applied knowledge of system development technologies, primarily with Agile, Six Sigma and Lean principles
- Experience gathering and analyzing business requirements and risk identification
- Strong interpersonal skills, including verbal, written, facilitation, mediation, negotiation, collaboration, and presentation.
- Work effectively with technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization.
- 2-5 years experience in one or more of the following: lead on a new or transformed product or service
- Ability to organize material, analyze and develop recommendations
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Experience in content and content platform projects is desirable
- Experience in insurance policy language and rating algorithms is desirable
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent education is desirable
