PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The Shift Lead will oversee the employees and the equipment for the inedible egg drying process for the IsoNova - Hegins, PA facility. This will include unloading tankers , operation of the dryer, evaporator and packaging equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Additionally responsible for product quality and the completion of production records as required.
TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinate duties of team to ensure that established policies, procedures, and work rules are understood and followed.
Maintains thorough knowledge of food safety policies and procedures.
Trains and develops associates to provide depth of safety, productivity, quality, and equipment operations.
Assists in providing feedback for associate evaluations.
Verifies and reviews completion of operational reports, log tracking, and other required paperwork.
Ensure proper and constant communication between departments and shifts.
Schedules inbound and outbound tankers-loading/unloading; maintains data log.
Troubleshoots the evaporation, pasteurization, and drying process to resolve issues and ensure that product meats customer specifications.
Providing coverage for Production Operators during breaks and absences.
Perform the Clean in Place (CIP) of the drying equipment while adhering to chemical safety guidelines
Unload tankers ensuring product goes into the proper tank
Oversee the appropriate plant cleaning and general housekeeping requirements as per Company policies, procedures, and schedules.
Conduct silo inspections.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Analytical abilities for trouble shooting equipment, finding waste and problem solving.
- Must be mechanically inclined and have ability to perform general maintenance as required.
- Ability to operate power tools and equipment safely.
- Ability to read, understand and effectively communicate information through writing and speaking so others will understand.
- Attention to detail.

- Previous leadership experience – preferred.
