What are the responsibilities and job description for the Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist position at Issaquah Veterinary Hospital?
Issaquah Veterinary Hospital is seeking a Part-Time or Full-Time Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist with experience working in a busy small animal practice. This position is 24 to 30 hours per week for part-time or 32 - 40 hours per week for full time.
All applicants must be competent in all the general skills of a Veterinary Assistant and/or Receptionist including but not limited to the following:
Animal nursing and care of a patient in a clinic setting
Working with both pre and post operative patients
Assisting in catheter placement
Running lab machines and setting up samples
Patient restraint
Medical terminology and medical abbreviations
Able to stand for long periods of time and work a 10 hour shift
Able to lift 40 pounds alone or 100 pounds assisted
Able to handle multi-line phones
Effective communication skills with clients and co-workers
Experience and being able to work as a team is a must
