Vehicle development process knowledge
The employee must be able to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer. This is primarily a sedentary position in a controlled office environment which requires only occasional reaching, stooping, and lifting of office files, reports or records, typically weighing 5 lbs. or less. Requires occasional light lifting (5-25 lbs.) and on rare occasions, heavy lifting (60 lbs.). Must be able on rare occasions to bend, crawl, climb, crouch, kneel and reach above shoulder level in the performance of job duties. Position requires 20 – 30% domestic and international travel, including overnight stays.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

- Manages the Product Planning and Vehicle Engineering staff; assigns daily and long-term tasks and balances workload. Works with managers and engineers in developing their project management expertise. Supports growth of departmental skills and abilities for the entire CV Product Planning and Engineering Department.
- Works closely with other members of management to ensure ITCA corporate goals are being met.
- Leads project team members in achieving project goals. Oversees project status in each program development phase and makes effective decisions considering a wide range of alternatives for solving problems, improving quality, reducing cost, and keeping schedules.
- Communicates with ISZJ engineering, suppliers, production facilities, joint venture partners and other parties based on teamwork concepts.
- Studies North American CV market for Isuzu vehicle sales growth and business expansion.
- Consults with other Isuzu departments and companies providing technical documentation to support their activities.
- Considers new technologies and trends. Reviews or organizes various research reports and shares these with upper management in the U.S. and in Japan.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

- Bachelor's degree in engineering
- Minimum seven years' experience in automotive engineering
- Minimum five years management experience
Vehicle development process knowledge
- Knowledge on automotive sub-system, testing, regulations, manufacturing and sales/marketing for project management
- CAD/CAM design systems; Siemens NX & TcAE or similar
- Proficient PC skills in Windows applications/Microsoft Office and presentation applications
- Good verbal and written communication
- Strong analytical and problem solving
- Ability to sketch, interpret drawings and 3D virtual designs

- Frequent contacts with equivalent level inter-organizational managers and customer representatives concerning projects, operational decisions, scheduling requirements, or contractual clarifications. Conducts briefings and technical meetings for internal and external representatives.
