In addition to the responsibilities listed below, this position is responsible for overseeing a technical team in the support of customers (users), assigned applications, and/or information systems, including software implementation, integration across functions and regions, complex configuration, system testing, and customization of software utilities. Additional responsibilities also include overseeing solution design support efforts and research initiatives for translating requirements into workable technical solutions, and managing the evaluation of third-party vendors as directed.
Essential Responsibilities:
Manages individuals and/or teams in designated work unit by translating business plans into tactical action items; ensuring all policies and procedures are followed; delegating tasks to meet goals and objectives; overseeing the completion of work assignments; aligning team efforts; building accountability for and measuring progress in achieving results; identifying and addressing improvement opportunities; removing obstacles that impact performance; and guiding performance and developing contingency plans accordingly.
Pursues professional growth and provides developmental opportunities for others by soliciting and acting on performance feedback; building collaborative, cross-functional relationships; training and developing talent for growth opportunities; delegating tasks and decisions; fostering open dialogue amongst team members; supporting execution of performance management guidelines and expectations; and working closely with employees to set goals and provide open feedback and coaching to drive performance improvement.
Manages a team of IT consultants in assigned business area to ensure project/program objectives and business needs are being met by ensuring that high-level business requirements are thoroughly and accurately documented in accordance with company standards.
Provides guidance and input into the management of requirements throughout key stages of the project or initiative.
Monitors the documentation of requirements gathering throughout the project.
Manages the solution design process by providing insight and guidance to ensure solutions are aligned with business strategies, operational work flow, established budgets, and vendor service level agreements.
Supports the IT Consultant community of practice by facilitating the implementation and maintenance of standardized tools, templates, and processes.
Communicates lessons learned and feedback to consulting teams, leadership, and the larger IT consulting community.
Ensures Consultant resources are assigned in consideration of team member skills, development needs, and project requirements by facilitating and managing partnerships between IT consultants, Program/Project Managers, and other IT planning leaders to drive short-term workforce planning efforts.
Evaluates existing IT Consultant resources to determine coverage of the necessary skills and knowledge required to meet ongoing business demands.
Ensures skill and knowledge gaps are closed by acquiring targeted resources and/or providing development opportunities to existing resources as appropriate.
Ensures additional staff augmentation through managed services agreements as needed.
Collaborates with HR and talent management to develop or enhance IT Consultant learning and development programs.
Manages the capacity and demand for IT Consultant resources by monitoring current and future demand for IT consultants within assigned business function.
Partners with IT Leadership, Project and Program Managers to ensure the appropriate resources are assigned to projects.
Reallocates resources to optimize effectiveness.
Participates in budgeting and capital planning both at the project/program and annual business cycle levels.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, CIS or related field and six (6) years experience in IT consulting, business analysis, or a related field. Additional equivalent work experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Four (4) years experience working for a health care organization
Four (4) years experience working for an IT organization
Two (2) years of work experience in a role requiring interaction with executive leadership (e.g., Vice President level and above)
Three (3) years experience working on projects or programs requiring the integration of cross-functional technology and/or business solutions.
