We're looking for a caring and compassionate individual who loves taking care of animals. This position requires daily care for our animals, including feeding, cleaning and administering medication. The ideal candidate is capable of working with the public in a professional manner. We're looking for someone who truly cares about making our community a better place for homeless animals. This job is rewarding in that you will be helping change the lives of homeless animals on a daily basis.

Responsibilities:

  • Feed and provide daily care for all animals.
  • Clean kennels, crates, kitty kabins and other areas of rescue center to provide an odor free and low stress environment for the animals.
  • Provide animal enrichment to reduce animal stress.
  • Walk dogs and assist with doggie play groups.
  • Monitor the health of animals and report to Executive Director any animal health concerns.
  • Handle sick animals. Adhere to established protocols to reduce the risk of spreading animal-to-animal diseases.
  • Light cleaning of lobby area and restroon including mopping.
  • Give baths to dogs, including lifting up to 50-75 pounds.
  • Help general public with adoption questions during open hours as needed.

We offer some flexibility with scheduling as long as you are reliable for the days you say you are available. So, if you are looking for a second job, this may be a good fit for you! The hours we employ animal caretakers are generally from 7 am to 9 pm, with two shifts working each day.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $9.00 - $10.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Evening shift
  • Holidays
  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekends as needed
