ABOUT THE PROJECT ENGINEER II JOB

SUMMARY

The Accounting Clerk position is responsible for entry of accounts payable, management of credit card expenditures / expense reporting, processing cash disbursements, assisting with cash receipts application, assisting with commission calculations and managing project costing.


CORE DUTIES

  

Accounts Payable

  • Prepare accrual listing monthly
  • Entry of accounts payable invoices into system
  • Work with the purchasing team to resolve PO receipt to invoice discrepancies
  • Maintain tracking of credit card expenditures and reconcile to monthly credit card statement
  • Generate payments to suppliers/sales groups via paper check, ACH transactions or bank wires
  • Monitor and follow up outstanding checks
  • Monitor accounts payable aging and vouchers payable report 
  • Prepare cash forecast reports weekly
  • Maintain record of Asian invoices and update freight tracking sheet

Accounts Receivable

  • Assist with posting accounts receivable cash receipts
  • Assist with researching credit applications and notify customers of approval/disapproval status
  • Manage customer rebates as applicable

Project Cost Accounting

  • Enter new projects from Engineering into project accounting system
  • Ensure accuracy
  • Update project information periodically
  • Run project status reporting as needed

General

  • Maintain postage balance in the postage meter and order postage meter supplies
  • Track shareholder receivables
  • Assist with month-end account reconciliations
  • Assist with month-end close, prepare and record journal entries, ensure accurate cut-off for A/P invoices, and bank compliance reports
  • Other duties as requested

Requirements


JOB DESIRABLES AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field preferred
  • Highly conscientious
  • Good attention to detail
  • High degree of follow-through
  • Very organized and able to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Microsoft Office Suite, with Excel experience a plus
  • ERP experience a plus
