Job Duties

· Perform installation, service, configuration, troubleshooting, and repair activities on video surveillance systems, access control systems, intrusion alarm systems, and network infrastructure with an emphasis on access control in the midwestern U.S. region, primarily a 500-mile radius from the Chicagoland area.

· Read blueprints, programming documentation, and wiring diagrams.

· Terminate and understand cat5e, cat6, cat6a cabling, and fiber optics cabling.

· Troubleshoot low-voltage wiring issues and correct them accordingly while in the field.

· Basic programming on telecommunication equipment and alarm system equipment including intrusion alarm equipment, CCTV equipment, Access control equipment, and life safety equipment

· Perform technical tasks with little training and direction.

· Complete cable installation and device terminations including Strikes, Card readers, Mag Locks, Motion Detectors, etc.

· Must have the ability to assess and develop a strategy to run and terminate cabling (Coaxial, Category, Access, Etc.) in busy environments.

· Set up, mount, and install DVRs, NVRs, PoE Switches, and low-voltage power supplies.

· Troubleshoot, debug and resolve low voltage electrical, cable, computer hardware, and software problems.

· Serve customers in a friendly, professional manner.

· Manage assigned inventory, tools, and equipment.

· Complete and submit thorough, accurate paperwork on time.

· Help train and act as a knowledge resource for Field Service Team members.

We are seeking an experienced access control technician to add to our Indianapolis Field Service Team. We have a wide range of products in all aspects of access control solutions ranging from the simplest mechanical lock to a system that would integrate multiple access points and systems. A love for technology, a commitment to best-in-class workmanship, and a desire to lead are required.

· Minimum 5 years previous low voltage experience as security installer in video, intrusion, and access control.

· Demonstrated ability to install access control hardware and program access control panels.

· Willingness to travel overnight at least 50% of the time.

· Must have working knowledge of security technology, tools, and installation techniques.

· Must be able to climb ladders, operate lifts and be comfortable with heights.

· Willingness to work varying schedules, including days, overnights, and some weekends.

· Organized, self-driven, and customer-focused.

· Excellent troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and solve problems effectively.

· Ability to lift 70lbs.

· Must be comfortable working in both indoor and outdoor environments.

· Must have valid driver's license, strong driving record, and the ability to pass a background check and drug screen.

· Strong interpersonal skills.

· Ability to interact effectively, professionally, and collaboratively with internal and external clients.

· Professional appearance and communication.

· Must provide basic hand tools.

· Military experience a plus.

· Supervisory experience a plus.

· Experience operating in retail environments a plus.

· Previous experience with Bosch Intrusion a plus.

· Previous experience with Mercury Hardware a plus.

Compensation details: 35-40 Hourly Wage
