Overview
The *** Agile Coach will lead various organizational teams in understanding and embracing the Agile methodology. The Agile Coach will drive the Agile Roadmap, identifying and tracking Agile accomplishments across the organization. They will be the liaison between the Delivery Excellence team and the scrum teams. They will promote incremental organizational adoption of Agile, including guiding teams into the Agile methodology, providing employees with feedback and means of improvement, promoting organizational growth, and answering questions.
The Agile Coach promotes the Agile mindset and acts as an effective change agent for Agile teams to improve the effectiveness of development and business efforts by facilitating improved Agile adoption and maturity across the enterprise The coach provides hands-on support to all employees, collaborating with people across widely varying levels and roles, leading teams toward further understanding and adoption of Agile as well as overall company growth and improvement.
Core Responsibilities
- Improvement identification and implementation
- Drives the strategy & roadmap for the organizational adoption of Agile. This includes every stage of adoption, from the introduction of Agile and employee education, to fostering teams and cultures that practice Agile, to sustaining Agile methodologies and continually offering strategies for improvement.
- Identifies gaps in the transformation of an entire portfolio by observing, evaluating, and implementing changes to solve organizational and cultural impediments.
- Refines the Agile process throughout the Agile adoption and takes responsibility to initiate process improvements; creates ways to measure and track progress to targets and capture the benefits as changes are made.
- Identify critical pain points in current processes and suggests potential process improvements.
- Implement the Agile process, principles, and practices across all levels and departments in the organization. The Agile Coach must use techniques that increase collaboration, predictability, transparency, and promote a culture of experimentation and innovation. The Agile Coach must also embody the Agile principles and lead by example.
- Process analysis and discovery
- Conduct analyses of current state IT processes and business processes by shadowing front-line employees, interviewing managers and stakeholders, and facilitating discovery workshops.
- Develop documentation of current state processes and workflows (using Visio or a similar BPMN modeling tool) and validate with stakeholders.
- Analyzes IT Tool set available to support Agile transformation and makes recommendations for improvements while finding ways to utilize current tool set.
- Using all available resources, identify industry-leading process standards, and the technologies to achieve those best-practices.
- Testing, training, and end user support
- Develop documentation of new processes and training materials for end users (such as tip sheets, quick reference guides, and procedures).
- Coach Scrum Masters and Project Managers in effective Agile delivery.
- Facilitates training and workshops for IT and Business.
- Provide simultaneous guidance and support of IT projects to multiple teams.
- Use Agile philosophies and standards to promote the use of current software development practices.
- Assist teams in designing methods of visualizing and collaboratively managing their work.
- Assist teams in designing feedback mechanisms to promote frequent learning and adaptation.
- Mentor users post go-live on system/process functionality and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

Skill Qualifications
Required :
- Expert on different Agile methodologies; Scrum, Kanban, Scaled Agile
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills
- Exceptional leadership skills to support collaboration across multiple engineering disciplines, along with the ability to effectively motivate people to work as an integrated team across locations, and cultures
- Experienced in facilitation skills to support conflict resolution, meeting facilitation, group dynamics, considering different personality styles
- Experienced in Organizational Change Management (OCM)
- Experienced in business process design, process documentation (i.e. BPMN), requirement gathering, testing, and user training
- Strong understanding of project management and Agile methodologies
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Relates well to others, engages people and helps them understand change, provides and looks for feedback, articulates clearly, and actively listens.
- Ability to build strong relationships and win the respect of others. Embraces servant leadership
- Teamwork skills with the ability to work in complex cross-functional settings
- Comfortable working in a constantly changing work environment with multiple competing projects and priorities; able to work well with complexity and ambiguity
- Experience with Agile tools (e.g. ADO, Jira, Rally)
Preferred :
- Lean, Six Sigma is a plus
- Programming experience is a plus
Education and Experience Qualifications
Required:
- BS in Business, Operations, Management, Computer Science or equivalent professional experience
- 6 years experience coaching and implementing change
- One or more Agile certifications (e.g. CSM, CSPO, CSP, PSM, PSPO)
