SENIOR DATA ANALYST
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position reports to the Director of IT Applications.
The Senior Data Analyst will play a crucial role in bringing data into the decision making process at Cincinnati Public Schools. This person will meet with stakeholders across CPS to gather requirements and build dashboards and reports to bring data to the front of the decision making process. This person will also be responsible for doing advanced data analysis to provide insight into the district that guides decisions and policy.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Senior Data Analyst is responsible for the following:
- Create and maintain dashboards and reports for departments and schools in CPS.
- Analyze complex educational problems and issues using data from internal and external sources.
- Perform analyses, identify trends, create projections, and communicate insights that drive planning and execution decisions.
- Gather and document requirements.
- Extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) of data from multiple sources.
- Build relationships with CPS departments and schools.
- Document all work for support and maintenance.
- Provide guidance and expertise on data governance.
- Help implement proper data governance.
- Train others in using data and data analysis tools.
- Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein as may be assigned or delegated.

- Skilled in using data analysis tools such as Cognos, PowerBI, Google Analytics, R, or Tableau.
- Skilled in Excel.
- Skilled in database management of Oracle and Microsoft SQL databases.

- Programming experience is a plus.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Statistics, or Business
5 years data analytics experience required
CONTRACT PROVISIONS
Type Contract: Limited 260 days
SALARY RANGE: Associate II - Per CAAS Agreement
