Procurement Specialist (fixed term)
This is a 7-months contract for a replacement in maternity leave. Start date should be around April 2023.
Based in our strategic site in Macon (71), you join the Global Indirect Procurement team dispatched across the globe.
You are responsible for all Indirect Procurement categories in EMEA region, as well as a few direct categories: Facilities Management Services, Maintenance, Repair and Operations (MRO), Capital Equipment, Direct Materials (packaging, labels, etc.)
You lead the complete vendor management cycle from the RFQ, supplier selection, contract review, price negotiation and vendor management.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Partner closely with key stakeholders across Europe to gain a strong understanding of their needs, provide better solutions and develop sourcing strategies to meet internal initiatives.
- Lead category Request for Quotation (RFQ, or RFx) process, review suppliers’ response and sourcing strategy for each component of a defined project.
- Develop negotiation plans and strategies to achieve optimized contract relationships between Itron and our supply base: analyze suppliers’ financial metrics, perform detailed cost analysis on suppliers’ RFQ responses, communicate recommendations and conclusions for management review and approval.
- Develop category strategies and implementation plans in accordance with corporate objectives. Strategies incorporate industry overview, market conditions, industry supply-base, supply chain continuity, value proposition, technology overview and roadmaps.
- Analyze, prepare, and present external marketplace metrics of the latest category dynamics, trends, benchmarks, and best practices. Stay aware of
- Conduct supplier selection and negotiations to deliver contractual agreements with preferred suppliers in accordance with defined strategy.
- Drive continuous improvement within the supplier base.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor/Master's degree in Business administration or related field.
- First experience related to management/negotiation of contracts and suppliers in an international context is required, ideally within a procurement, legal or sales department.
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English and French is mandatory.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, capacity to build trust, relationship management, customer oriented.
- Capacity to understand the needs and targets, to define an action plan and to execute it successfully.
- Capacity to work independently with minimum direction, proactivity, and ability to move things forward within an expected timeframe.
- Attention to details, good redaction skills, good organization skills.
- Advanced skills with MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and with collaborative tools (Sharepoint, Teams..)
