The FP&A will report directly to the Group Vice President of Operations and focus on serving as a strategic consultant to the GVP, providing leadership over business analytics and suggesting strategic initiatives to improve performance. In addition to building credibility and trust throughout the company to be a trusted advisor and to achieve collaborative implementation of strategies.

Responsibilities

Financial Planning Analyst

• Perform hourly, daily, and weekly review of critical terminal KPIs and real time data and camera feeds to identify operational anomalies and communicate to local operations teams.
• Process and review weekly and monthly operations data trends to identify areas requiring attention by regional and local management teams.
• Produce and disseminate real time terminal operator productivity metrics and identify candidates for management engagement.
• Support operations teams by monitoring real time telematics data to identify operational and safety related opportunities.
• Support asset management goals through the monitoring and analysis of telematics asset utilization data. Work with Corporate Asset Management team and regional operations personnel to evaluate usage trends and recommendations on fleet sizing. 
• Provide visibility and proactive alerts to regional Repair and Maintenance teams to insure preventive maintenance activity is performed timely and to insure equipment defects noted during VCR process are auctioned.

• Drive a range of high-profile and high-impact projects to guide our overall corporate strategy, including review of new market and services opportunities, competitive analysis, and internal optimization areas

  Own strategic initiatives end-to-end through the development of work plans, gathering and analyzing relevant data, the development of actionable recommendations, and compelling communication to relevant stakeholders

   

   

Qualifications

Requirements

• 2 - 4 years of relevant experience
• Nimble business mind with a focus on creative solutions
• Superior skills in analytical and presentation tools such as Excel and PowerPoint
• Ability to conduct sophisticated and creative analysis, and translate those results to easily digestible messages, communications, and presentations
• Flexibility and ability to adjust to new demands
• Strong executive presentation and engagement skills
• Self-motivated with a highly collaborative style and strong influence skills
• Brings a positive approach, easy to work with, enjoys working with other accomplished, strong professionals
• BS in Finance or equivalent in related field
• Experience in Railroad, Transportation, Supply Chain, or Warehousing industries is preferred.
