What are the responsibilities and job description for the Engineering Drafter position at ITW Electrostatics?
Electro Static Technology (a business unit of ITW) is the global leader in the mitigation of damage caused by stray electric charge on rotating and moving surfaces. Our two major patented product lines are the AEGIS Shaft Grounding Ring for electric motors and generators, and the FLX-P line of antistatic brushes.
- Create the correct model in CAD
- Find out customer requirements by speaking to them
- Make revisions on a model based on customer requirements
- Specify material used on model
- Compute mathematical formulas to find correct dimensions
- Create models out of rough sketches
- Coordinate with other teams to ensure the model is correct
- Develop standardized models of products
- Create a 2D/3D drawing in AutoCAD. Make revisions on a drawing based on customer requirements. Create a drawing or model out of sketches. Coordinate with other teams to ensure the drawing is correct.
- Develop and build general-purpose fixturing and tooling to support the manufacturing process. Engineering and Tooling Manager will provide guidance as necessary.
- Fabricate prototype devices or products under direction.
10-15 years experience in an equivalent position and/or machine tool and/or engineering training. Must be able to read, understand and create blue prints using AutoCAD. Some electro-mechanical experience/educational training is required.Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, stand, walk and reach with hands and arms, use hands to finger and handle or feel.
The employee is occasionally required to sit, lift and or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
