Job Description
Summary:
The position is responsible for procurement of assigned items and executing buying strategies in accordance with agreed upon material buying plans at the optimum cost/quality relationship. Analyzes market and industry conditions and develops supply recommendations. Assists with contract negotiations for implementation. Researches and recommends alternate supplier sources. Works closely with cross-functional team members.
Core Responsibilities:
- Manage inventory levels based on pre-determined inventory fulfillment rates and principles.
- Plan and issue purchase orders for products that consider supplier lead times and safety stock to meet specified inventory targets for MRD/Kanban System execution.
- Develop target strategies that apply to assigned product categories to continuously improve and reduce month on hand measurements.
- Develop and manage networks of vendors and suppliers to ensure consistent supplies and competitive prices.
- Develop working relationships with manufacturing sites to understand plant needs and expectations.
- Communicate with various functional teams within all facilities, as well as provide up to date information, resolving processing issues.
- Provide cross-functional support by completing special assignments, perform data analysis and provide historical and future data.
- Become an expert in the ITW Toolbox and proficient at conducting continuous improvement activities to improve Supply Chain processes.
- Drive quality improvements with suppliers using various corrective action methods and support supplier development activities
- Assist in contract review along with the approval criteria, part routings and the implementation up to final phases of product realization.
- Working relationship with ITW Corporate Strategic Sourcing Team to support various initiatives relative to commodity.
- Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in field related to supply chain functions or equivalent experience.
- Manufacturing background preferred.
- Highly analytical with proven success utilizing critical problem-solving skills and prioritization.
- Computer Proficiency: MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Strong proficiency with Excel a MUST.
- Knowledge of ERP Systems (SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, Navision, etc.)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-starter, a team player, result oriented with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to multi-task and make critical business decisions based on established metrics.
