Job Description
Summary/Objective
The position will be based in our headquarters Hendersonville, TN. 15 miles northeast of downtown Nashville. As a key member of the Purchasing team, the Buyer Expeditor will be responsible for procurement of assigned components, oversee Vender Managed Inventory and drive supply chain continuous improvement initiatives with a focus on on-time delivery. The selected individual will be responsible for aspects of purchasing and supply chain management in order to operate efficiently and coherently with the business plan. Must be able to work in a fast paced highly engineered environment and work closely with Engineering, Production and Customer Service.
Primary Responsibilities
- Generate purchase order, develop and maintain open communication with vendors to ensure timing of parts, with expedite, as needed
- Collaborate with suppliers to provide timely order updates and adjust shipment schedules
- Provide feedback to effected departments regarding delayed supplier delivery dates or inadequate stock availability
- Work with the other teams (ie: Finance, Engineering and Production) to resolve purchase order issues
- Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels of assigned components including VMI (Vender Managed Inventory), ensuring an optimum in-stock position, including participation in physical inventories.
- Generate and communicate reports (i.e.: weekly key vendor open orders, supply performance scorecards, etc.)
- Identify cost savings and procedure efficiencies to meet business needs
- All other duties as assigned to assist in the success of the purchasing and inventory management
Qualifications
Job Requirements
- Associate degree with 1 years supply chain or purchasing experience. Bachelor’s degree, preferred.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office: Advanced Excel Knowledge
- Basic understanding of engineering drawings
- Desire to collaborate with both internal and external teams and ability to work independently
- Work in fast-paced environment and able to prioritize workload efficiently
- Detail oriented and results driven
- Effective oral, interpersonal, and written communication
